Las Chicas ventured out of town for our last lunch. On the N322 road between Teulada and Gata de Gorgos we found the beautiful setting that is restaurant Vall de Cavell. The restaurant is owned by the same people who have La Mesena restaurant. The standard and quality was equal to what we had experienced previously at La Mesena and the service was even better.
Sitting on the terrace under a beautiful blue sky we were overwhelmed by the beauty of the surrounding area. We had the most stunning views of the Montgo as a backdrop to the horses in the verdant fields that the restaurant takes its name from. There is also a sparkling swimming pool for guests.
37 Chicas this time enjoyed a choice of goat’s cheese salad, gaspacho or salmon tartar to start followed by duck, hake or beef chop. Comments were “beautifully presented” “excellent” “wonderful” “Duck perfect” and “Salmon sublime” all finished with crepes, baileys cake or fruit and declared brilliant. The only complaint was from two people who were served last and found that their beef chop was over cooked.
However as the restaurant was catering not just for our group but was full with other diners we agreed that the service was not compromised at all. We finished with fun for all as Lynn organised photos around the wooden horse situated at the entrance to the restaurant.
Well done Lynn for arranging another successful lunch, the Vall de Cavall will take a lot of beating.
