Javea Golf Club Dining group May 2016

Javea Golf Club was the chosen venue for this month´s Dining Group event.  The view over the golf course first tee to the Montgo elephant mountain in the distance made a delightful location for an aperitif in the evening sunshine.

The lamb was very flavoursome and cleverly shredded and served in a small tower a la Masterchef, surrounded by potatoes.  It seemed to almost cry out for a touch of coloured vegetable.  The fish was very well liked but in contrast had only vegetables, no potatoes.  This omission only applied to the first group, the later group got chips!  The dessert pineapple was universally praised, and the cheesecake and apple strudel also went down well.  The service was very efficient and quick, almost too fast, as though the staff wanted to get home.  We were finished by 9.30pm, our earliest ever.  Apparently for the second group this was less so.  The golf club is normal an early venue, with last orders at 7pm, and is probably better as a lunchtime venue.  But overall the 35 attendees thoroughly enjoyed their meal, and we all thank our hosts David and Eileen Haxon.
