Film 17th October: The Woman in Gold – repeat showing

Last Monday the film ‘Woman in Gold’ had, at 5:30, a queue running from the door all the way back to the car park door!  This was an unprecedented event for us, and by 5:50 all the seats had been taken.
For those who were disappointed and didn’t get to see the film, I have booked a repeat showing this Monday 17th October at 6pm.  From the comments from those who saw the film, this is a ‘must see’.
I hope those who turned, but were turned away, can make it this Monday?  Please spread the word to your friends, especially if they were turned away.
Regards,
Phil Chaney

Dear Filmgoer,

Welcome back to a new season of films. The general theme this year focuses sometimes on spies, stealth and bravery. There will be 2 films with Helen Mirren and 2 from Tom Hanks. To balance, humour will be served up by Maggie Smith, Taron Egerton and Hugh Jackman. All of the films have been acclaimed in their own genre – I hope you enjoy them – see you there?

We start the season with ‘The Woman in Gold’. I watched this while flying back from Kraków last September, having just visited the Auschwitz memorial, and found the film particularly poignant, but intriguing and humorous. Please have a look at the poster and especially a view of the trailer, which gives you a good flavour of this quality film. As with many of our films, it was funded by the BBC.

The trailer is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9bx3KTGBEaI and the poster is attached.

Finally, just a few reminders of the rules for the theatre:
No drinks (or water) – set by the town hall.
Please turn OFF your mobile phones.
Please leave the seats at the ends of the back row free for wheel chair users.
and PLEASE do not turn up late – we start at 6pm prompt and if the doors are closed, then we have started, and so please do not come in as the light spoils the viewing for the members who were on time. Thank you.
Regards,

Phil Chaney
