Dining Out April 2015: El Chamizo

Chamizo has changed from the little beach shack I first knew many years ago as Las Rochas to a really good restaurant. The only thing that has not changed is arguably the best position in Moraira, perched just above the waves. And for the first cohort of forty one members of the Dining Out group the food was also very good, from starters of mussels, goats cheese salad or fish soup, through to duck, escalope, rock fish or chicken main course. There were odd murmurings about cold plates – it was a particularly cold night and I suspect they are kept somewhere unheated, and this is a frequent complaint in Spain. But overall everybody said they really enjoyed it, as the photos show. And with every dessert plate I saw practically licked clean you could be sure the tiramisu went down well! Many thanks from us all to our hosts Bob and Kay Cope.
